There’s the Mother’s Day Market on May 9, which will run between noon and 7 p.m. and feature a host of artisans, crafters, fresh finds, and more. There is also an exciting brunch and candle-making event at Rosa Mexicano from noon to 3 p.m. Capital Confectionery at Gaylord National is also holding a special Mommy & Me Sweet Treat Decorating activity. Bonsai Fest at Arboretum
Because World Bonsai Day just happens to coincide with Mother’s Day Weekend, plant-loving moms may be interested in attending the Potomac Bonsai Association (PBA) and the Friends of the National Arboretum’s (FONA) World Bonsai Day & Potomac Bonsai Festival. Festivities will take place at the National Bonsai & Penjing Museum and Arboretum Visitor Center, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily between May 8 and May 10.

Mamma Mia! Movie Party
Head to the iconic Alamo Theatre for the ultimate cinematic Mother’s Day musical celebration.
