Is being away from your pets at home the only thing holding you back from an extended overnight stay in Ocean City, Maryland? Well, then you’ll be happy to learn that there are several pet-friendly accommodations to choose from, many of which are conveniently located right along Coastal Highway in the heart of all the action. You may also want to check with individual property owners to see which available condos, beach houses, and other lodging rentals in the area welcome furry, feathered, and scaled companions. Then, there are always nearby campgrounds to consider too.

In keeping with resort options specifically, though, I’m highlighting all those great pet-friendly hotels and motels directly in the vicinity of Ocean City beaches. 

Aloft Ocean City

4501 Coastal Highway, Ocean City, MD 21842

Owned by Marriott, Aloft Ocean City is by far one of the best places for pet owners to stay while visiting Ocean City. That’s because they’re super pet-friendly and are willing to accommodate versatile animals of all species (dog, cat, bird, etc.) at no additional cost. They do prefer that dogs do not exceed 40lbs. and that there be one pet per room.

With their pet-friendly ARF program, doggie guests get to enjoy a complimentary care package, which includes a food bowl, special bed, and a “doggie bag” of treats.

Ashore Resort & Beach Club

10100 Coastal Highway, Ocean City, MD 21842

Ashore Resort & Beach Club offers designated pet-friendly rooms in which a maximum of two pets of any size (within reason) may be accommodated. An additional fee of $250 (plus tax) covers the cost of up to two pets of varying species.

Barefoot Mailman Motel

16 35th Street #16, Ocean City, MD 21842

Here’s another great option for guests with dogs and cats alike (or whatever else you’re bringing along). The staff comprises an animal-loving bunch of folks and even comp you with special goodies at check-in. The pet fee is $15 per night (plus tax) per animal or a weekly charge of $75 (plus tax). The motel features a special dog-designated walking area onsite and is also within convenient range to several area parks.

Days Inn Oceanfront

Days Inn by Wyndham Ocean City Oceanfront permits only dogs, with a set maximum of two dogs up to 50lbs. per room. The pet fee is $100 (not including tax) per dog, per stay. Upon check-in, staff provides special treats and waste bags for your convenience. There is also a grassy dog-designated walk area right onsite to make things even easier. Any dogs left unattended in rooms must be crated until owners return.

Fenwick Inn

13801 Coastal Highway, Ocean City, MD 21842

Because they feature a limited number of pet-friendly accommodations, it’s best to make arrangements for staying here well in advance. Generally, Fenwick Inn accepts both dogs and cats, although Rottweilers, Pit bulls, and Chow Chows are not permitted.

Guests pay a $30 fee per night for pets, although this fee is waived for service animals when proper documentation is provided. Furry guests also have the Pampered Pooch Package option available to them, which comes as a collapsible water bowl, locally made baked treats, and other goodies.

The property contains a specially mulched dog area for all necessary purposes.

Hilton Garden Inn Ocean City Oceanfront

2800 Baltimore Avenue Ocean City 

Hilton Garden Inn Ocean City Oceanfront is happy to accommodate a maximum of two pets of varying species up to 80lbs. The pet fee is set for $74 (excluding tax) for stays ranging one to four nights and $125 for longer ones.  

Holiday Inn Express & Suites

12552 Ocean Gateway, Ocean City, MD 21842

Holiday Inn Express may not be located on Coastal Highway, but it’s still a beloved favorite for so many animal visitors to Ocean City. Based in West Ocean City, pets of varying species up to 75lbs. can be accommodated at a rate of $40 per night, per pet (plus tax). Furthermore, all the different available room types here are equally pet-friendly, and treats are even provided to furry friends at check-in. Additionally, you will find a convenient grassy area onsite for walking dogs.

Hyatt Place Ocean City

One 16th Street, Ocean City, MD 21842

Hyatt Place is a dog-friendly establishment that permits two canine companions per room, in designated pet accommodations. The combined weight of both dogs, however, may not exceed 75lbs., and only housebroken animals are allowed. Pet fees are charged $100 per week (excluding tax).

Home 2 Suites by Hilton

120 67th Street #3A, Ocean City, MD 21842

This beautiful bayside location provides designated accommodations for two pets of varying species weighing up to 60lbs. Pet fees are $75 (not including tax) per pet, per stay. The property features a special relief station area on location.

Howard Johnson by Wyndham Ocean City Oceanfront

2401 Atlantic Avenue, Ocean City, MD 21842

For a fee of $100 (excluding tax), Guests at Howard Johnson may bring up to two dogs up to 50lbs. The premises contains a special dog-designated relief area. 

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham

106 32nd Street, Ocean City, MD 21842

La Quinta by Wyndham Ocean City allows two pets of varying species weighing up to 75 lbs. for an additional fee of $25 per night (not including tax and to exceed $75 per stay). Unattended pets must be crated when owners are out of the room. Again, there is a special relief area onsite of the resort.

Monte Carlo Condos

1107 Baltimore Avenue Ocean City

These large home-like suites, featuring multi-room bedrooms and even kitchens/kitchenettes, truly are designed for the whole family—including the family dog or dogs. Two are allowed per accommodation, weighing up to 50 lbs. each. The cost for pets is $100 (excluding tax) per accommodation, per stay. Service animals are exempt from fees.

Paradise Plaza Inn

Dogs, cats, and various other pets up to 40lbs. are welcome at Paradise Plaza Inn, in designated rooms.  An additional fee of $20 (excluding tax) per pet, per night applies. 

Residence Inn by Marriott Ocean City

300 Seabay Lane, Ocean City, MD 21842

As a strictly dog-friendly establishment, Residence Inn by Marriott Ocean City permits one dog of any size for $150 (plus tax) per stay and $25 (plus tax) per stay for each additional dog between May 1 and October 31. This rate drops between November 1 and April 30, to $75 (plus tax) per stay for one dog and $25 (plus tax) per stay for each additional dog. While animals may be left uncrated in rooms, the front desk requests a mobile number be provided for anyone planning to leave dogs unattended. The hotel features a grassy area for relieving dogs. 

Safari Motel

13th Street & Boardwalk, Ocean City, MD 21842

Guests staying at Safari Motel Boardwalk may bring two dogs up to 85 lbs. for an additional fee of $35 per pet, per night (not including tax). Cats are also permitted with prior approval and consent from the hotel. On the grounds there is a grassy pet relief area and waste stations.

OC Surf Villas

Seven 54th Street, Ocean City, MD 21842

This smaller four-unit setup of accommodations also happens to be pet-friendly, but is restricted to dogs and cats only. The fee for animals is $50 per accommodation, per stay (excluding taxes). Service animals are exempt from this fee. An outdoor pet area is conveniently located on the property.

Additional Pet-friendly accommodations that vary by season and room designation also exist throughout the greater Ocean City area. Because rules, requirements, and rates are always subject to change, it’s always best to review each venue’s current policies before making any and all reservations, and letting the staff know in advance about your intentions to bring along any nonhuman roommates.
