Summer fair season is now underway throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. And for Pennsylvania folks especially, this makes for plenty of farm festivals, follies, and family-friendly fun to go around. It also marks the return of some long-held seasonal favorites, which eager folks look forward to every year. One such offering that stands out in York County is the Mason Dixon Fair.
Held annually at its namesake Mason Dixon Fairgrounds location during the first full week in July, the Mason Dixon Fair remains a time-tested favorite among the myriad community traditions that exist here. And this year’s offering delivers double delights, as America’s all-out 250th celebration gets underway in conjunction with the grand event.
In general, the Mason Dixon Fair has always honored American tradition and ingenuity, particularly in the agrarian sector. While each day’s run boasts specific demos and entertainment, overarching ongoing follies include livestock shows, carnival amusements, track events, vendors, contests, prizes, delicious food, entertainment, and so much more.
The Fair’s 2026 installment kicked off Monday at 4 p.m. with the Boer Goat Show. Other highlights to deck out the evening’s premier included the “Cowboy Christmas” pop-up shopping event, a baked-good auction, and the Red, White & Rodeo track event. Special events Tuesday included the steer and heifer presentation and a racing track event.
Still to come, Wednesday’s opening will feature the Market Lamb Show and Mason Dixon Dirt Drags. Thursday will include the Rabbit Show, Miss Mason & Mr. Dixon Contest, Antique Tractor Pull Final, and even a good old-fashioned Watermelon Eating Contest. Friday highlights will include the Breeding Sheep Show and Demolition Derby.
Saturday will showcase an array of happy happenings. Included in the lineup, Fairgoers can expect livestock cow and goat shows, a Horse Pull and Coon Mule Jump, a Milk Chugging Contest, and another Demolition Derby. The Delta-Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company Fireman’s Parade and Evening Fireworks are also on the agenda.
The ever-popular Midway, featuring loads of games and rides, will open each day at 5 p.m. This generally coincides with the hour that most festival follies on the Fairgrounds open each day, except for some earlier-in-the-day livestock shows.
Saturday’s operation will shift gears a little, providing an early noontime opening.
Daily admission prices are all-inclusive of Fair entertainment and happenings. This pertains to on-location tracking events, too. Do take note, however, that Midway games and rides must be purchased additionally. All-You-Can-Ride Wristbands will be available through Thursday for $30.
General weekday admission, excluding opening day, is just $5 for folks 12 and older. Thursday Throwback tickets are discounted to $2. Weekend costs (Friday and Saturday) are $10 per person.
