Sweet-toothed sidekicks unite for the ultimate shop-local/chocolate tasting culmination. It’s the Georgetown Chocolate Tour, and it’s happening this Saturday, February 7, from noon to 4 p.m.
The Georgetown Chocolate Tour is made possible by Georgetown Main Street, an all-volunteer-led organization committed to promoting small businesses, networking opportunities, and events throughout the greater DC area. This upcoming tasty and tantalizing undertaking, in particular, pairs the delightfulness of decadent chocolate with the do-good initiative of supporting local retailers and merchants throughout the district. Consider it a shopping spree and chocolate tasting all rolled into one!
Participating retail locations to visit during the Georgetown Chocolate Tour will include: Boat House Apparel, Georgetown Garden Shop, Hunter & Huntress, Just Paper and Tea, L’Enfant Gallery, MAJOR, Milo & Mav, Shop Made in DC, Sourced by Scottie, StudioLab RD, Tilley’s Pet Supplies, and ZADIG & VOLTAIRE. The featured chocolatiers and their palatable contributions are highlighted below:

Various ongoing (separate and slightly overlapping) tour times will be available to sign up for throughout the day. The first option will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. The second tour begins at 1 p.m. and runs until 2:30 p.m. The third and final slot is set for 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
In addition to various touring times, you can choose which ticketed package to purchase. Options include General Admission Tickets and VIP Tickets.
For $60, General Admission Tickets get you delicious chocolate treats from participating local bakeries and chocolatiers, picked up at 12 shops. Time Slots for General Admission are at noon, 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. There are currently 200 General Admission Tickets available. Take note that these can be shared among friends.
More esoteric VIP Tickets are valued at $90. With just 20 available, each participant must have an individual ticket and be at least 21 years of age. With the VIP package, you get everything that comes with General Admission, along with the following additional elevations: a 13th chocolate item: Special Edition chocolate from Arcay Chocolates; a 14th chocolate item: Signature dark chocolate mousse from L. A. Burdick, and a tasting experience with Chef Greg from Fountain Inn. The latter will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and feature the following: a collaboration boozy bon-bon – Arcay Chocolate x Provenance seven-year single-barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon syllabub cocktail-raspberry framboise, cognac and chocolate foam, cocoa cavatelli with braised beef cheek. VIP Ticket holders have an event start time scheduled for 11:45 a.m. Per the event’s disclaimer: Due to the format of this event, dietary restrictions and substitutions respectfully cannot be accommodated.
All participants in the Georgetown Chocolate Tour, regardless of ticket package or start time, will meet at Grace Street Collective (at 3210 Grace Street NW) for check-in. While you are not obligated to take all your chocolate treats along with you on each stop you make along the way, all your items must be picked up before 3:45 p.m.
