A ‘HART’ felt golf tournament is happening this Friday in Swanton, Maryland. It’s Putt for Pets at Thousand Acres Golf Club. Serving as both a benefit to HART for Animals, Inc. and a fun family-oriented recreational folly, Putt for Pets is the ultimate awesome way to kick off the summer season.
Are you a golfer? Consider registering to play during the event. Or just come out to watch and enjoy all the other onsite happenings offered throughout the day. Either way, this is the place to be.
Events start bright and early, at 8 a.m. That’s when registration opens. Donuts and coffee will be served beginning at 8:30 a.m., followed by the “Hit the Links Scramble” at 9 a.m. Lunch will also be served, plus the option to purchase one Mulligan per person. Each person who makes a purchase will be automatically entered to win a Litchfield single-barrel bourbon bottle made exclusively for HART.
Additionally, there will be many other prizes for the taking, including the ultimate win for those who bravely take a shot at #17—a noted hole-in-one. This opens the door to possibly winning as much as $25,000! Also, take note that all players will be automatically entered into a drawing for a Pella Golf Basket, valued at $200!
Standing Place Prizes are provided in the form of gift cards to the Thousand Acres Golf Shop. Contest-winning denominations are $100 each in the following categories: Putting, Longest Drive, Closest to Pin (three winners), Floating Green, and Teams. The First Place Prize is valued at $150. Second Place is $100. Third Place is $50.
Even after the tournament, you can expect ongoing fun and delights to last throughout the 2 p.m. hour. This includes the awards ceremony, of course, as well as many other awesome opportunities to enter drawings for the raffles to be presented. There’s even going to be ice cream provided by Lakeside Creamery—an added treat indeed!
While the day will provide ongoing fun to all attendees (spectators and participants alike), remember it is, first and foremost, a charitable fundraiser serving to benefit HART’s heartfelt mission to provide ongoing support for animals.
HART for Animals, Inc., was established back in 2003 as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Their ongoing commitment is to saving the lives of displaced and homeless animals throughout the surrounding regions of Western Maryland, West Virginia, and Western Pennsylvania. Since their founding, they’ve rescued more than 14,000 animals.
Located along 6.5 acres of bucolic Western Maryland lands, directly in the vicinity of Deep Creek Lake and WISP Resort, HART’s lofty operations go above and beyond to provide the best of the best to the companion animals in their care. Revenue from these services goes toward supporting the center’s Adoption Wing, which can simultaneously house 60 dogs, 40 cats, and multiple litters of kittens as they await being adopted into their warm, loving, forever homes
