As Autism Awareness Month draws to a close, Lucky and Blessed Fishing is casting the reel real deep into the ultimate sendoff. It’s their highly anticipated Autism Awareness Invasive Species Fishing Event & Tournament, and it’s happening this Sunday, April 27, at Sandy Point Marina in Annapolis, Maryland.
After a successful inception last season, the tournament is back for its second installment. Doubling as a fun-for-all activity in addition to serving as a charitable fundraiser, at the helm (and heart) of the event is the organization’s ongoing mission to raise awareness and garner the support they urgently need to continue providing therapeutic fishing experiences for kids, youth, and adults of differing abilities.
The Autism Awareness Invasive Species Fishing Event & Tournament is set to begin bright and early on Sunday at 9 a.m. and run through 3 p.m. The day, first and foremost, promises to be one of fun, sensory-friendly, and good-natured competitive surf fishing. Attendees will also enjoy music, food, and engaging endeavors for all ages, interests, and ability levels. Consider it all-around festive fellowship at its finest!
While the main tournament will take place on April 27, extended weekly drawings in support of the fundraising initiative will continue through May 31. Lucky and Blessed Fishing, Inc. is a nonprofit organization established in 2022 to provide engaging, entertaining, and educational fishing excursions to intellectually, physically, and life-challenged individuals. The goal is to connect those struggling with the aforementioned circumstances and everyone else in need of reaping riparian benefits with a Fishing Adventure Buddy or Mentor and, together, build lasting relationships and bonding experiences.
