But one of its most alluring of all is, for all intents and purposes, in fact, a best-kept “secret,” to say the least. It’s Dining in the Dark: A Unique Blindfolded Experience. An original presented by Fever Up, the globally recognized entertainment platform known for providing one-of-a-kind exclusive experiences and events to folks around the world, the Dining in the Dark: A Unique Blindfolded Experience concept caters to foodie thrill-seekers in particular, offering up an enticing epicurean endeavor flavored by the elements of surprise.
In short, what the experience entails is self-explanatory. You’re basically dining blindfolded. But there’s so much more to it than that. The idea is that by omitting the sense of sight, diners are forced to depend on their other senses—those of taste, smell, and even touch (the tactile feel of the food). Doing so invokes a more meal-engaging focus on appetite and appreciation.
The Baltimore-specific offering for this presentation will occur at the Collective Encore—a well-known event and entertainment venue based in Columbia. Diners who have already reserved one of two available time slots on the available dates will enter the Collective as scheduled, where staff members of the B&O American Brasserie will meet them. They will provide diners with the blindfolds needed for the mealtime excursion and dutifully lead participants to their seats.
Then begins the 90-minute three-course meal itself, featuring a “secret” menu. That’s part of the fun—trying to guess the verdict on what each palatable presentation is.
