Movies were all the rage back in 1949, and visitors to the Clayton today can even see articles, artifacts, and callouts from its nostalgic past. These can be found throughout the lobby and upstairs near the bathrooms.
As much a cherished community treasure for today’s audiences as it was long ago, the Clayton also happens to be the only single-screen theater still operating in the state. That’s why there are typically only one or two showtimes on the days they operate. Matinees play at 3 p.m. and evening shows are at 7 p.m.
You may purchase tickets for any feature film presentation online in advance. Alternatively, you may arrive at the box office before your preferred showtime and purchase tickets onsite. Doors open half an hour prior to movie showings.
Depending on the audience size and quantity of tickets booked per show, the theater sometimes opens additional balcony seating upstairs. This occurs more frequently for evening features. Matinees are often restricted to the primary level.
