It’s that time of year again—time for the springtime installment of Gettysburg’s famed semi-annual Outdoor Antique & Arts Show. A community mainstay 57 years in the making, the first event for the 2024 season will take place this Saturday, May 18.
The Spring version of the Gettysburg Outdoor Antique & Art Show is always held on the third Saturday in May. The Fall event occurs on the fourth Saturday in September, with this year’s presentation scheduled for September 28.
Here you have the ultimate paradise for buyers, sellers, and collectors of all distinctions to unite at. All enjoy coming out for a day of trading, dealing, and browsing countless unique finds. With hundreds of vendors and thousands of visitors, it’s truly a diversified scene to behold.
High-quality antiques and rare and original vintage collectibles make up the headline of the showcased finds on display. Other specific callouts include decorative items, furniture, jewelry, coins, gold and silver, artwork, nostalgic toys, Depression-era glass, ironworks, pocket knives, old guns, lace and linens, holiday collectibles, and much more. You can even find brand-name items by Heisey, Limoges, Cambridge, Fostoria, Haviland, Roseville, R.S. Prussia, Rockwood, and others.
Both the Spring and Fall shows are held on location at Lincoln Square, along Carlisle, Chambersburg, Baltimore, and York Streets in Historic Downtown Gettysburg. The event runs from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. and takes place in rain or shine.
These Outdoor Antique Shows are made possible by the Gettysburg Area Retail Merchants Association (GARMA). A 501(c)6 nonprofit organization that’s been serving the greater Gettysburg community of Adams County for more than five decades, GARMA works to increase the exposure of retail merchants while presenting enjoyable experiences for residents and visitors alike. GARMA is comprised of local businesses, merchants, and various organizations of all sizes and across every sector of the economy.
It’s by hosting such events as these two semi-annual Outdoor Antique & Art Shows that they raise all funds necessary to continue bringing forth all those beloved community activities everyone enjoys so much. One of their most popular presentations every year is the Annual Tree Lighting in the Square and other surrounding seasonal celebrations as part of Christmas in Gettysburg.
