When second-generation owners Scott and Beth purchased the business from their parents in the late 1990s, the original aquatic focus expanded to include various other pet supply categories as well, and the company was rebranded as That Fish Place—That Pet Place. Today’s operation boasts an impressive 88,000-square-foot facility, proudly housing and displaying the most abundant collection of quality pet products and essentials all in one convenient place and at reasonable prices too!
The store is divided into separate sections with the massive pet supply superstore sector known as “That Pet Place” being the main area you first walk into. Different food, toy, and accessory needs are all clearly and visibly marked, making it easy to navigate and find just what you’re looking for without becoming overwhelmed. This also goes for the various in-store animals available for adoption, whether they be mammals, reptiles, birds, bugs, amphibians, crabs, fish, or something else entirely.
The leftmost part of the store is where you’ll find That Fish Place—a separate sector housing an array of aquatic creatures and fishy features. They also carry an abundance of corals, coral frags, live rocks, aquarium plants, and so much more. From stocking fishbowls and aquariums to even pond installation essentials, there’s no denying that they have you covered with all their impressive premium provisions.
Because That Pet Place is the ultimate retail venue catering to pets, take note that animal companions are always welcome to shop along with you. In fact, several regularly featured in-store events are designed just for them specifically. These include holiday pet photos (Halloween, Christmas, Easter), onsite meet and greets and/or demos hosted by visiting clubs, specially themed in-store event days, holiday parties (like their fan-favorite “That Howl-O-Ween Party), adoption events, microchipping services, and so many others. That’s perfectly understandable given all the onsite featured follies worth exploring. Their Pirate’s Cove Touch Tank, for instance, is an ultimate fan-favorite. Located right at the entrance to the Fish Room, this fish-shaped shallow pond, laden with stingrays and other aquatic creatures, was designed for folks to lean in and effortlessly touch these amazing swimmers as they pass by. It’s a true hands-on experience! Knowledgeable staff is onsite every weekend, to conduct live feeding events and for question/answer sessions.
Tours of the store are even offered upon request. Available to anyone, touring events are especially popular with school field trippers, homeschooling and scouting groups, pet clubs, and other organizations. These tours can even be generalized or customized to a particular focus.
