Spring may still officially be several weeks away, but with March right around the corner, we’re already starting to see signs of winter’s end. Newly stocked seeds and garden-readying products now line the shelves at most major stores, and people everywhere are itching to get their “spring cleaning” done in hopes of tackling new projects around the house, yard, and garden.
With seasonal ambitions back in bloom also comes the return of some of Maryland’s most welcome annual home and garden expo events. Here are just a couple you won’t want to miss.
The Maryland Home & Garden + Craft Show
For the next two weekends, the Maryland Home & Garden + Craft Show returns to the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. As a popular biannual event with both fall and springtime installments, this massive multi-week event welcomes in scores of visitors and vendors of versatile interests.
Week one of the 2024 Maryland Home & Garden + Craft Show will take place on March 2 and 3, with the following week’s event running from March 8 and 9. Vendors both weekends will be located at the Cow Place and Exhibition Hall at the Fairgrounds. Exhibitor products will range in everything from construction and remodeling to crafters, arts, furnishing, and more. Other interests vary by health and wellness, food and beverage, appliances, automotive interests, and so much more. And of course, gardening, landscaping, and outdoor interests will all be anchoring features as well. Several returning favorites and new premiers alike will make up this season’s ensemble.
In addition to massive vendor setups, various ongoing shows, demos, and even celebrity guest speakers will be onsite. It’s fun for the whole family, with plenty of diversions and activities for even the youngest attendees as well.

Suburban Maryland Spring Home Show
Maryland Home Shows, which take place several times throughout the year and at rotating locations across the state, always make for fun, inspirational pursuits. Designed to motivate and excite folks in their upcoming home improvement projects, such events always pack a host of onsite offerings in the way of featured vendors, special onsite events and demos, and even activities for all ages and interests.
Two upcoming Suburban Maryland Spring Home Show events will be taking place in March and April. The first is happening this weekend, March 2 through 3, at Adventist HealthCare Fieldhouse at Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown (Boyds) Maryland. On April 6 and 7 the Suburban Maryland Spring Home Show arrives at the Howard County Fairgrounds in West Friendship.

Frederick Home & Garden Expo
A tradition that’s just shy of five decades in the running is the 49th Annual Frederick Home & Garden Expo. Taking place March 16 and 17 at the Frederick Fairgrounds, this year promises to keep delivering on all the same beloved family-friendly featured events you’ve come to know and expect each year while forever adding to the mix as well.
Made possible by the Frederick County Building Industry Association, all are invited to come out and visit with hundreds of different vendors all offering up various niches. The vast display ranges from home improvement services, local lawn and garden businesses, leading area bathroom and kitchen remodelers, and so much more.
Ongoing demos, talks, and other presentations will be ongoing all weekend long. Show highlights include the FCPS Student Builder Olympics all day on both days, a Kid’s Interactive Fun Zone (Building 18) with ongoing activities and shows, Mason Dixon BBQ Demo & Tasting events (Building 14a/Booth #1472), and other can’t-miss features.
