Last week I mentioned that Winterfest of Lights and the Train Garden at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center are now open for the season in Ocean City, Maryland. But there are also plenty more endeavors to enjoy in the coming days and weeks as Christmas draws nearer. From parades and tree lightings to other festive follies, here’s a look at just some of the many fun things to take in when you visit the greater Worcester County area in the coming weeks.
Holiday Shoppers Fair
Stop by the Roland E. Powell Convention Center this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for a three-day Holiday Shoppers Fair. This is your opportunity to make a dent in your holiday shopping must-dos as you get to enjoy more than 120 diverse vendors all in one location. You’ll find anything and everything you’ve been looking for. Furthermore, in addition to the vendors, you can enjoy a host of activities being offered, such as face painting and other kid-friendly joys. You can also keep yourself fueled up at the food court and make an entire day out of being here.
The Holiday Shoppers Fair will take place on November 24, 25, and 26. Doors open at 10 a.m. on all days and will stay open until 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Sunday’s operation will wrap up at 3 p.m. Admission is just $3 for folks 13 and older. Click here for more information.
ICE ICE Berlin & Town of Berlin Tree Lighting
One of the Town of Berlin’s most beloved events for getting the holiday season underway is this enchanting evening endeavor, which begins at 5 p.m. on November 24, right in the heart of Main Street. Come out and be a part of all the action as the Mayor and other “special guests” lead in an all-out winter wonderland celebration. Stare in awe at the impressive setup of more than 30 ice carvings throughout town while also taking in a host of other winter wonders, including Santa visits at Kringle Kottage—onsite of the Taylor House Museum. And in full Black Friday style, shops will be open late!

Trimper Rides Christmas Carnival
Trimper Rides is teaming up with OCDM to host an old-fashioned Christmas carnival on the weekend of November 25 and 26. Doubling as a fundraiser, attendees who come out for the grand event are in for a fun time. You have all those classic indoor rides, of course, but will also find delight with live holiday music, delicious treats, tree and wreath auctions, a life-size Trimper Land board game, an Elf Land Snowball Brawl, and even visits with Santa Claus. Additionally, this is the time to take advantage of Black Friday sales on 2024 Summer Season Passes and 2024 Summer Mega Passes. Pocomoke City Christmas Parade
Come out and be a part of one of the largest nighttime Christmas parades in Delmarva, right in the heart of the “friendliest town on the Eastern Shore.” Marking the 51st year as a holiday mainstay event, the Pocomoke City Christmas Parade this year will take place on November 27, at 7 p.m., following a route north on Market Street, starting at 14th Street and then ending at the Pocomoke River. Pocomoke City’s Old-Fashioned Christmas Evening
That’s not all that Pocomoke City has in store this holiday season. On December 1, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., you can come out and celebrate the Mayor’s Old-Fashioned Christmas Evening. It’s a jovial event now in its sixth year that features a host of festive activities, including Santa visits, refreshments, and live entertainment. Ocean City’s 40th Annual Christmas Parade
One of the most beloved holiday must-dos for visitors to Ocean City over the last 40 years is of course the Annual Christmas Parade on Coastal Highway. Kicking off at 11 a.m. sharp on December 2, the parade will feature an extended route from Old Landing Road north to 120th Street. Following the parade, the Carousel Hotel will play host to plenty of family-friendly activities and even the highly anticipated awards presentation that always follows the parade. Mid-Atlantic Symphony—Holiday Joy
For classical music fans and those who just love the sounds of the season, here’s a spectacular concert event to warm your heart. Taking place on December 3, at 3 p.m., the Mid-Atlantic Symphony will be presenting its acclaimed Holiday Joy concert at the Ocean City Performing Arts Center. Before then, locals have two other opportunities to experience this dazzling holiday music compilation at Avalon Theater in Easton on November 27 and at Cape Henlopen High School, up north in Lewes, Delaware on December 2. There will also be Holiday Brass concerts on December 15 at Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and on December 17 at Christ Church in Easton. The latter will also play host to a special New Year’s Eve concert as well.

Berlin Christmas Parade
Here’s another beloved annual Christmas parade tradition, this one based in the heart of Berlin, Maryland. Now in its 38th year, this season’s event will take place on December 7, beginning promptly at 7 p.m. at the Berlin Welcome Center. The course will run north to the Berlin Fire Company and feature more than 80 floats, dancers, firetrucks, and more. And of course, Santa’s forever a part of all the action as well.
