Frederick County, Maryland, is home to so many premium pumpkin patches, amazing corn mazes, and altogether fun farm follies to enjoy every fall. Each location has its own unique niches and standout attributes, making visits to Frederick County area farms even more awesome at autumntime. While there are plenty of venues worth exploring these are among some of my favorites.
Brookfield Pumpkins
With 15 acres of pumpkins to pick from, allowing folks the chance to find the perfect one is among Brookfield’s greatest specialties. But do take note that there are numerous other fall time finds to purchase here as well, from Indian Corn to gourds galore, and everything else in addition! Also, as an optimal autumn destination, there are plenty of onsite family-friendly activities to keep the fun times rolling, including an impressive corn maze in which 100% of the proceeds for admission go toward a select charity of your choosing.

Farmer ChuckBone’s Pumpkin Patch
This may be one of Frederick County’s newer fall follies but with its second year underway Farmer ChuckBone’s Pumpkin Patch is quickly making a name for itself as an awesome autumnal family-oriented farm destination. Here they deliver on all the works, from pick-your-own-pumpkins of several different varieties, commuting hayrides to and from said pumpkins, a hay pyramid, bone digging area, antique tractors, air cannons, and so much more. The resident petting zoo is always among the biggest hits—a sure way to make several new friends. There’s also plenty to be said about the onsite nature trail.

Gaver Farm
Ongoing now through the end of October, Gaver Farm is presenting its annual Fall Fun Festival daily, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Featuring more than 65 attractions onsite, you and your group will find plenty to do on every visit. Get lost trying to navigate an impressive corn maze (and mini mazes) or take a thrilling zip down a giant slide. Jumping pillows are always fun too. Visiting the resident farm animals is also forever one of the greatest pastimes here, whatever the season, and during the Fall Fun Festival you get to see them at their best, between chicken shows, duck races, and more. In addition to all these onsite endeavors and diversions (plus so many others), remember you can also get in those classic pick-your-own pumpkin opportunities while you’re at it. Pick-your-own-apple opportunities are also still ongoing. And don’t forget to stop by the onsite farm market to snag some additional goodies in addition!

Glade Valley Farms and Corn Maze
Whatever your age and interest, you’ll be glad when you come to Glade Valley Farms and Corn Maze this autumn. Now through the end of the month, you can get lost in their anchoring corn maze attraction while enjoying other traditional fall follies, like picking pumpkins from the pumpkin patch, going on hayrides, and getting into plenty of corny fun in the way of corn cannons, a corn pit, and more. There are also swings, a giant slide, and yard games every weekend. And as always, the onsite petting zoo boasts a host of new farm friends you’ll want to get to know better.

Green Meadows Petting Farm
This awesome petting farm of great acclaim is presenting an elaborate pumpkin patch set up through the end of October. Additional autumn activities will be taking place onsite until the end of the month also, including hayrides, slides, multiple play areas, pig races, a wood tractor, and animals, of course. There are well over 150, in fact, and visitors may even feed and interact with them directly. And remember, you get a free pumpkin with pumpkin patch visits now through the end of the month.

Jumbo’s Pumpkin Patch
Rated among the top 10 pumpkin patches in the country, Jumbo’s has been a community staple since 1994. And now, well into the full-fledged pumpkin season, their annual ongoing Fall Festival is taking place through the end of the month. In addition to a most impressive pick-your-own pumpkin patch setup spanning more than 25 acres, you can enjoy a host of other onsite activities including hayrides, farm basketball, a jumping pillow, corn maze, petting zoo and so much more. Admission is free on weekdays, with weekend rates going for $12 a person (ages 3 and older). Weekends offer additional fall follies. You even get to enjoy great food, a general store on location, and even a Craft Attic showcasing the handiwork of over 45 local artisans, making this your ultimate daylong destination.

Magnolia Meadows Farm
Ongoing through the last weekend in October, Magnolia Meadows Farm is presenting weekend-wide Fall Festival events on location. More than 20 exciting hands-on activities await visitors here, including what has been deemed the largest corn maze in all of Maryland. Other exciting endeavors consist of ziplines, slides, apple cannons, animal interactions, and so much more. And of course, hayrides and pumpkin patches are all part of the agenda as well. Delicious concession stands, market goods, and even locally sourced beer and wine are all available too.

Summers Farm
Summers Farm has been the ultimate autumnal destination for Frederick County locals and visitors alike for more than 27 years.
