Turkey Hill Experience debuted to the public back in 2011, opening onsite of a large 1899 building that formerly served as the Ashley & Bailey Silk Mill. Comprising an impressive 26,000 square feet, it is home to plenty of fascinating exhibits and hands-on activities to enjoy on the spot.
Some of the more popular interactive opportunities you can take to here include milking mechanical cows, researching and developing virtual ice cream flavors (and getting to try them out in the Taste Lab), and even starring in your very own Turkey Hill television commercial. All the activities and exhibits here are equal parts engaging, and educational. On that latter note, you’ll come away learning all about the founding of Turkey Hill Dairy by the Frey Family. You’ll also discover the process of ice cream making and even get to experience several nostalgic callouts to the past, including an original milk truck once used to make local deliveries.
For Turkey Hill tea fans, there’s also the Turkey Hill Tea Discovery Experience offered as an extra endeavor (available at an additional cost). For these engaging sessions, led by a knowledgeable expert in the craft of tea, you’ll learn fascinating facts about the history of tea brewing, the different tea leaves and flavors around the world, health benefits, and so much more. And you’ll also get to enjoy free samples of Turkey Hill’s own fine tea, of course.
The free samples onsite aren’t limited to just tea, though. That’s right, visitors out and about the Turkey Hill Experience facility get to indulge in unlimited free samples during their time here, as part of the overall “experience” package deal.
Visitors take note that Turkey Hill Experience operates as a fun, interactive attraction but does not function as a working facility where products are made in-house. But as mentioned before, you’ll certainly get your fill of ice cream and tea as you make your rounds. And if you want some great merch and memorabilia, there’s even a gift shop on location to fulfill all your needs.
Because Turkey Hill Experience is an entirely in-door operation, it’s open year-round, seven days a week.
